Though the company had an interesting product differentiator—blessing all crystals before they get shipped—crystals, like many products, aren't sold on pure practicality. They're an emotional purchase, and the brand needed a strong emotional platform to message from.
We landed on an idea the company's founders often preach: It's not the crystal that gives you any special powers...the power is already within you. The crystal just helps bring it out.
The brand platform lends itself to empowering messaging, which ties nicely into the founders' spiritual coaching businesses.
The brand voice challenge was to have a more "woo" spiritual vibe, without alienating the masses. We called the voice "your down-to-earth guide to the universe."
